"Secret of the Ooze"

Been eying "Kraang" for the longest time and finally got him at almost half of the retail price.
Cool figure. Will definitely do more displays with him in the near future.
Now I'm seriously considering getting the "Revoltech" TMNT figs to replace my "Neca" ones.

"Thunder!!!"

Been a long time since I've gotten new "toys" or done A.C.B.A. because I was busy playing "Pokemon Go". Got down to doing both today as I bought a decent "Pikachu" figure.

#RIP

To be honest, I don't know "Glenn Webb" at all. I've only bought "props" from him once and watched a couple of his reviews but decided to do a tribute pic for him.
I only found out we were the same age after news of his passing.

"Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope."

Received the SDCC exclusive "Obi-Wan Kenobi" boxset today. Immediately had to do this pic but the biggest challenge was figuring out how to fake "Luke's" home in "Tatooine".
I ended up piecing together different "props" to form this scene.
The rest of the display was easy. C3-PO is sooooooo flimsy. I was worried that I was going to break him. "Obi-Wan" doesn't have very good articulation but I need him in my "Star Wars" collection so badly. I forgot to "hook" his "Lightsaber" to his belt. LOL!!!

B.P.R.D.

Needed practise doing "Whitehot" shots and attempted this display featuring the "trinity" from B.P.R.D.
I really love my "Mezco" figs.

"Droid Duo"

Finally "tinkered" around with the "Mafex" set of C-3PO and R2-D2. I added the "Carbonite Han" in the background.

My only complaint about the set is that C-3PO feels very "flimsy" and I have heard of reviews where people broke it so I was very cautious when handing the figure. The figure is very light and felt fragile.

"I ain't afraid of no ghost"

Watched the new "Ghostbusters" last week. It wasn't as great as the original movies but was entertaining nonetheless.
Decided to do a "tribute" to the original cast.

"Wonder Woman"

Loved the "Wonder Woman" movie trailer.

Was inspired to do this display with the "Gal Gardot" figure.
"V-side".

"Cloud City"

"Cloud City" is one of the iconic landmarks in "Star Wars". Was inspired to use it as the background for this round of A.C.B.A. displays so I rushed off to get the "Millennium Falcon" and "Slave I" in "Hot Wheels" form.
"C-side" with how I placed my lights.
The "Slave I" was harder to keep in place as the stand wasn't designed to hold it in flying position.

"The Man who broke the Bat"

"Bane" is infamous for breaking "Batman's" back. I rarely feature the "Bane" C&C and was inspired to use him for this display together with the poorly "articulated" and "battle damaged" version of "Batman" from "Infinite Crisis".

"Just dance"

Was requested by "Boog" to do a 1 minute review of the GTP "Space Walls" so I ended up doing this display for fun since I arranged the "walls" for the "video".
The 2nd display was "Davy's" idea.

"The Galaxy's greatest hacker and unsung hero"

Finally made use of the GTP "Death Star" walls. They were a pain to keep in place as they are not flat and fall over easily but they photograph incredibly well.
R2D2 is seriously under-rated in importance to the success of the "Rebels". R2 is the greatest weapon other than "Luke" I reckon with its "hacking" ability.

"Ponder"

I didn't win "Round 7" of this year's edition of "Photo Kombat" but I did go further than I managed last year.
Need to do a quick "Thank you" speech. Thanks to "Boog" for starting the A.C.B.A. "movement" and all my buddies for their continuous support... "Jeremy", "Muhammad", "Day", "Kirby", "Marc", "Cedric", "Derrick" and "Billy".
The "pencil" prop is so "dope". Will I be competing in the "World Championship Tournament" this year? I really don't know.

"Renee Montoya"

This is the only version of "Renee" that I am aware of in figure form. "Mattel" definitely didn't make one and I am not sure I will ever get to own one in 1/12 scale. "The Question" is one of my favourite DC characters. "Trivia" for you. Did you know "Rorschach" from "The Watchmen" is based on this very character?
I don't have a lot of "props" to go with "Minimates" but I think it works.

"Wrath"

I'm out of "Photo Kombat" but "Round 7" is open to those who were knocked out from "Round 3" onwards. The theme is "7 Sins" and I drew inspiration from this "panel".
I made it my own by putting in my own interpretation. The "custom" of "Bruce Wayne" came in very useful especially with those open hands.

"Ghostrider"

Finally got my hands on "Ghostrider" thanks to "Boog". Decided to do a "Simple Sunday" pic with him.
Had the "Bike" for awhile and I'm happy to finally use it in a display.

"May the Force be with you..."

Today is the 4th of May which is "Star Wars Day". Decided to quickly do this iconic scene using "Thomas Bangalter" from "Daft Punk" to represent "Luke Skywalker" as his "robotic" hand resembles "Luke's" replacement right hand as seen in "The Force Awakens" movie.
My "B-side" version of that scene with R2D2.

"Injustice"

Was inspired by DC's "Injustice" series. The "cut-out" of "Detective Chimp" was from that "novel" and the "story" does include "Constantine" as well as "Batman" collaborating.

"Firestarter"

This would have been my round 4 entry for "Photo Kombat". The "Elementary" theme really had me "stumped". Was originally going with "ice" but ended up doing this "Liz Sherman" pic.
"B-side".

"Civil War"

This was meant to be my "Photo Kombat" round 2 entry for "Betrayal" originally but I couldn't use it as "panels" is reserved for round 5.
Never got to use it for the round 5 "Epic Fail" theme though as I was eliminated in round 3.

"Family"

We often obsess about success and failure but lose sight about what's really important... family. Shoutout to my A.C.B.A. fam!!!
I am finally out of "Photo Kombat" and now I have time to start working on new "dioramas". My first round entry for the "Buddy" theme was "Booster Gold" with "Blue Beetle" and I decided to "sign off" with the duo.

"Artemis"

Initially thought of setting up this scene with "Wonder Woman" but decided to go with an RUF instead in the form of "Artemis". I love how "Mattel" did "variants" in the past as "Artemis" is basically the "Wonder Woman" fig with a different head and also different details added on.
I am confident that if "Mattel" had invested more in "articulation", the DCUC line would still be going strong like "Marvel Legends".

"The Iron Giant"

After a loooooooooooooong wait, I finally have my hands on the "Mondo" exclusive "Iron Giant"!!! I pre-ordered it in January 2015 and it only turned up in April 2016. Insane.
Turns out that mine is 2113 out of 2155 made.
The packaging is pretty amazing. I really need to find time to play with the figure.

"Jedi"

Been awhile since I've posted because of "Photo Kombat" but decided to use the "robes" for "Jedi Knights" that I got recently.
I have had these "Stormtroopers" and "Luke Skywalker" for a long time and never used them. It's about time!!!

Sunday, February 7, 2016

"Siggy"

Had this "cut-out" for awhile and finally got down to using it. I used the DCUC "Constantine" for this "display" as his "outfit" matches what "Jim Gordon" is wearing in the "cut-out".
I have 2 "Bat-Signals". I really need to sell the extra one.

Tuesday, January 26, 2016

"Detective Chimp"

Never read a DC "novel" with "Detective Chimp" in it but I'm dying to read one.
I made this "cut-out" from an "image" from "Injustice". That is one "storyline" that I want to get into.

"Preparation"

I learnt from participating in the WCT that preparation is key to success.
Here I have "47" preparing for a "job". I layed out all the "equipment" available to him in the "Hitman" series except his "Silver Ballers" and "Fibre Wire".

"Thank you"

Pretty much my version of a "Thank you" speech. My thanks to "God" for sure because I went from almost not joining the WCT to being ranked #10 in the world. Big "shout out" to "Jeremy Lee" and "Bill Maru" for their help. I wouldn't have entered or gotten through all 3 rounds without encouragement from "Day", "Muhammad", "Mr Bacon", "Derrick Borecky" and "Kirby Pags". Not forgetting to thank the judges ("Boog", "Pharaoh", "Slings", "John Connor" and "Todd") for their time and effort during the entire tournament. Keep grinding!!!

"Bang... Bang... #10 in the world..."

The A.C.B.A. WCT 2015 results were finally released today. I came in #10 in the world which is quite an accomplishment for me considering that I was "knocked out" in the first round of the 2014 edition. I was happy yet disappointed at the same time because I was hoping to come in 5th.
I am not sure if I will be participating in the 2016 edition as the "tournament" really requires a lot of sacrifice.

"Clayface"

Was a little reluctant to make this "cut-out" when I was making a new batch because it is similar to the one I made for "Galactus".
You can't tell but it is actually "Bruce Wayne" being attacked by "Clayface".

"Office Politics"

Those who work in an "office" should be able to relate.
"Chaos" ensues when the "Boss" is not looking. Haha!!!

Thursday, January 14, 2016

"Khalid Nassour"

Decided to use another "cut-out" I had of the "Khalid Nassour" of "Dr Fate". This was my second attempt and I finally got it right.
There's a reason "Jeremy" is the top 5 "artist" in last year's A.C.B.A. WCT. He pointed out how I could improve this display by turning "Constantine" away from the "camera" and it worked wonders.

Monday, January 11, 2016

"Dr Fate"

Seldom attempt "Multi-scale displays" or MSDs but I had to try for this specific "cut-out" I made.
This version of "Dr Fate" is the latest "champion" chosen by the "Helmet of Nabu", "Khalid Nassour". I don't know much about him but I hope to read about him in the "novels" soon.

Thursday, January 7, 2016

"Deadman" and "Constantine"

Been inspired to do a lot of "cut-out" work recently and this was one of those I made.
The original "cover art" had 2 "skeletons" but I replaced them with "Deadman". This version of "John Constantine" is different from how he's typically illustrated and it is interesting.

"Helmet of Fate"

Stumbled across a "cover art" featuring the "Helmet of Fate" with "John Constantine's" reflection on it and I knew I had to make a "cut-out" of it.
There was a "panel" with "John" donning the "Helmet" but I guess that will be for another time.

Monday, January 4, 2016

"The Spectre vs The Phantom Stranger"

This display was a pain to set up because of the weird shape of "The Spectre's" head. I had to angle the camera to squeeze the "cut-out" into the frame but I am happy with the result.
It seems that you need epic "cut-outs" now to garner any attention from the A.C.B.A. group.

"I shall become a bat..."

Display that I have wanted to do for ages but finally had the right props to execute it. I used a "bust" of "The Terminator" for this "Batman: Year Zero" inspired display.
I love "Origins" storylines.
