Portrait

The day started out exciting when I received a package at work. I ended up working overtime again and it was late when I got home. I quickly opened up the package only to find 2 crooked figs. The "Hawkeye" had a heel that wasn't flat and the fig can't stand with his left foot flush against the display surface. The "Iceman's" right leg is shorter than the left.
I originally planned to pose "Hawkeye" in my "Dark Avenger's" display but realised that this version is not sinister looking enough. I probably have to commission a custom or pray for "Marvel Legends" to release one. I ended up creating an "Avenger's" display instead. I placed the "Ultimate Iceman" with "Colossus" and "Nightcrawler". "Gambit" from the "Marvel Select" line was not to scale with these figs and I left him out of the portrait.
To top off a bad night, I broke the wrist joint of "Thor" and now the fig doesn't have a left fist. Disappointing.
Close-ups taken during the day. I love the "Avengers" display but I'm missing an "Iron Man". This display will be updated soon with a modern "Cap".

"Hulk Vs Skrulls"

My 6 "Skrulls" finally arrived on Friday night!!! I got them as a bundle from the same seller on "eBay". Disclaimer... I did not steal this display idea from the upcoming "Thor" movie. I conceptualised it way when I first won the auction. I was thinking to myself which character in the "Marvel" universe is powerful enough to take on a horde "Skrulls" simultaneously and the "Hulk" came to mind.
My original display was destroyed because one of the figs fell down knocking over the rest. I had to start from scratch again and it took me 2 hours to get the display stable.
I'm not happy with the final outcome so I will likely redo the display.

"Secret Files: Joker"

Interesting depiction of "Batman's" arch enemy. Not in his trademark purple suit but in the floral shirt and berms. Love the pistol, SLR camera and short glass.

"Last Son: General Zod"

Fellow "Kryptonian" and formidable nemesis. I definitely remember this villain from the early "Superman" movies and I love the modern look that the illustrator gave him in the "Last Son" storyline.
Awesome detail on the fig with the flowing coat, eye-wear and even a tattoo on his neck. A fig that I've been wanting for the longest time.

"New Krypton: Superman"

I've been collecting figs seriously for 2 years and it is strange that this is the first loose "Superman" that I own. I like this version of "Supes" because he is not in his trademark blue and red suit which is refreshing. He kinda reminds me of "Christopher Reeves".

"Savage Frost Giant"

"Jeronn" helped me lug a package back from the U.S. that included this giant. "Adam" helped me win this in an auction and he packed it nicely together with 3 figs that I got from him.
This monster is the reason why I got the loose "Thor" seen in the foreground. I love the detailed sculpt and accessories.

"Marvel Universe: Thor"

Not really a fan of the 3.75" figs but I have been on a lookout for a "Marvel Universe: Thor" to display together with my "Savage Frost Giant". The "Frost Giant" is with a friend in the States and I will only get it in March or April.
A comparison against the "Marvel Select" version. The "Select" version has a bulkier hammer and better face sculpt but the articulation on the "Universe" version is not bad. I have already reserved the "Thor" from the 2012 wave of "Marvel Legends" and will likely keep that one MISB.

"DCUC: Green Arrow"

The saving grace of Wave 20. I have the "DC Direct" version in my collection but it is still MISB. Love his modern look with the hood instead of the "Robin Hood" cap.
Minor complaint about the arrow sculpted as part of the bow but this figure has restored my faith in the "DC Universe Classics" line. I almost gave up on the line due to the disappointing figs in the same wave.

"Sinestro"

Another disappointing figure from Wave 20. The promo pictures of this fig got me excited until I got my hands on the figure. He has horrible neck articulation such that I can't make his head look up so he is perpetually looking down. The best I could do was to make the fig grimace at his power ring.
Weak figure. Candidate for sale also.

"White Lantern: Flash"

I already owned a "Toys"R"Us" exclusive "Flash" with the glossy paint but I was intrigued by the energy accessory on his back to warrant purchasing this version even though I'm not a fan of "White Lanterns" or the "Flash" character himself.
Not spectacular upon owning it so I may end up selling it.

"Marvel Select Colossus"

Realised that there have been tons of posts on the A.C.B.A. page already on the "Marvel Select: Colossus" so I won't say too much about it other than it's awesome. I have an MISB one waiting for "Dr Giggles".

"Lovers & Enemies"

It is Valentine's Day. No date but overtime at work instead. The only highlight of the day was collecting new figs. I was inspired to create this display due to the theme of the day.
"Black Canary" can't stand on her own so there's no way to hide the base except crop the pic.

"Justice"

I was challenged by "Mindless Spot" to take new pics and it was his probing that inspired me to dream up this scene.
"DC Universe Classics" and "DC Direct" figs seriously lack decent articulation for A.C.B.A. but I am happy with the result.
"Justice" has a good storyline so for those who have not read it... what are you waiting for??? Love "Alex Ross" and his artwork.

Flight stands

"Mindless Spot" hooked me up with flight stands. We did a barter trade where he received figs in exchange for cash and these stands. Nice dude whom I've done deals with before.
I finally got a chance to display the "Skrull" and "Kree" from the 2 pack in a fight scene.
I can now pose characters like "Spectre" levitating or flying. Just for laughs... I posed "Loki" holding the spare "Kree" head I had.
Can't wait to receive the 1:12 scale comic book prop that "Mindless Spot" is making for me next week.

"Captain America: Nick Fury"

Was blessed that "Apathy Ink Customs" offered to help me grab this fig that was on clearance at "Walmart". This fig was a "Walmart" exclusive but was retailing at the local "Toys"R"Us" at a ridiculous price.
Minor gripe about the warped right leg due to the blister packaging. Definitely a fig that is value for money at the price I got him. He is dressed in a long trenchcoat, has 2 holsters to hold 2 pistols that came with the fig and is also armed with 2 rifles!!! "Samuel L. Jackson" is one cool !@#$%^&*_+<".
