"Marvel Legends: Skrull Soldier & Kree Soldier"

Was inspired by this A.C.B.A. World Championship round 4 submission to purchase a "Skrull".

Got the 2 pack at a bargain price. It was still in package though the card wasn't mint but it didn't matter as I intended to take the "Skrull" out for posing. The detail on the "Skrull" is insane. Nothing much to comment about the "Kree Soldier" other than the fact that it comes with an interchangeable head whilst the "Skrull" has spare arms. I wish that the right rock arm had an elbow joint for dynamism.
"Mindless Spot" is in the midst of making flight stands for me so I am making do with vanilla posing for the moment. I will definitely buy more "Skrulls" if I can get them at reasonable prices. Stay tuned!!!

"Marvel Legends: Nightcrawler"

Already owned the movie version of this character but he came as a bundle with "Iceman". Decided to pose him differently since the character is Catholic and I had the cross prop.
I am happy with the result. I'm collecting more figs on Wednesday so stay tuned for my new post.

"Marvel Legends: Iceman"

Haul of the day. I was trolling "eBay" and came across "Iceman" for sale but he was only available as a bundle with "Nightcrawler". The bundle price was reasonable so I got both figs.
My fav "X-Men" character growing up. "Cyclops" is cool because he can shoot lasers from his eyes but a man whose whole body is ice?!?!?! It is a pity that he is under-utilised in the "X-Men" storyline in recent times.
He came with the original base but the design is awkward. It was close to impossible to use both the pegs for his feet and position his hands into the "ice". After trying different poses, I resorted to taking down the ice platform and just have him standing on the "Sentinel" hand. This is temporary as I have devised a new setup.
I am hoping they re-release this character with a new sculpt.

"Thor Comic Series: Loki"

"Package!!!"... quoting the signature cry of "Boog Nice" when he films new arrivals. This was a "Walmart" exclusive and it naturally took me forever to get my hands on this fig but it was worth the wait. The only annoyance was that "Walmart" had a clearance on this immediately after I paid for it on "eBay". Being the "klutz" that I am, I promptly dropped the fig on my marble floor whilst attempting to take him out of the postage packaging and I was lucky to escape with no damage. However, one horn is crooked but I'm not sure if it was because of the way the seller packed it.
The face sculpt and details on the body is insane. I do not need to go into details with regards to the notoriously horrible leg joint. I am seriously lacking accessories in my collection and thus was not able to add any effect to his open fist. I noted that most A.C.B.A. guys put the "Iron Fist" accessory into "Loki's" open palm. For the price he was originally retailing for, he should have come with an energy accessory or a weapon. I seriously need to source for energy accessories. I inserted "Loki" into this scene with his brother "Thor" and "Hulk" to create the perception that he is manipulating "Hulk" like a puppet and "Thor" attempting to pacify an agitated "Hulk".
My fav new fig thus far in 2012. The year is young and I have more goodies on the way.

"Daredevil: Director's Cut"

Decided to buy and watch "Daredevil: Director's Cut" after hearing rave reviews about it. I wanted to see for myself what the big deal was. My verdict is that the pace is a tad slower than the theatrical release with added scenes but I was shocked by the deletion of the love scene. It still puzzles me as to why they cast "Michael Clarke Duncan" as "Kingpin" when the comic book version is Caucasian.

"Bats" T

New T from HMV I got last week. They were having a sale where you can get 2 Ts for S$50. Kinda cool right? This pic resembles a "Bat Symbol"!!! The other T I got was printed with a "Foo Fighters" logo.

"Face-off: Kingpin"

The "Daredevil" is one of my fav characters in the "Marvel" universe and to have him isolated in my collection without his arch nemesis has been a bane. I finally secured "Kingpin" today at a reasonable price. He has stains on his white jacket but I guess they add realism to the figure. He is bulky from a "Marvel Legends" perspective but is dwarfed by the massive "Juggernaut" in the background. He scales well with my "Daredevil" from the "Marvel Select" line. I successfully posed "Kingpin" having "Daredevil" in a chokehold and clobbering him. Added a fallen chair in the foreground to depict them rumbling in a room somewhere in "Hell's Kitchen".
The figure came with a black sceptre but is of no use in this scene. The more posing I attempt with "Marvel Legends" figs, the more I realise that "Mattel" really needs to add finger articulation into their "DC Universe Classics" figures for dynamic poses.

"Green Lantern: Hal Jordan (Power Glow)"

What a mouthful!!! Why the heck do I need another "Hal"??? No reason really. The fig is an interesting variation with the translucent emerald body but the real motivation to buy it was that "David" from "Invasion Toys" offered me the very same fig for S$20 more than "Harris". Hmmmmm... I'm pondering putting this up for sale on "eBay".
The packaging is similar to the "Brightest Day" one with the blister molded in the shape of the "Power Ring". Can't imagine I just noticed that now.
The irony was that I ended up not finding the Ts I wanted and had to venture all the way to "Marina Square" to purchase them.
I should be posting on the "Kingpin" from the "Marvel Legends: Face-off" series later this week after I collect it.

"Brightest Day: Deadman"

Headed down to 313 today to grab a "Batman" and "Foo Fighters" T-shirt from HMV.
Decided to take a detour over at "Harris" because "Dr Giggles" had gotten "Brightest Day" figs there at a good price. He had secured a "Deadman" for me on my behalf but I decided to grab one today since he had regretted not getting the character and now he can keep it :p
Not too exciting an acquisition to start the year since this fig was essentially released last year but I did stumble across an interesting find. More in the next post.

Display

My first post of 2012. Wishing all my friends and family an awesome 2012!!!
A quick update with a picture taken in the day to show my display case. One of my earliest additions to my collection... this 10" version of the animated "Hellboy" and is easily one of my fav amongst my display. My "Batman Rogues Gallery" on show and my "X-Men" section.
"Deadman" from the "Brightest Day" series is pending collection from "Dr Giggles". A large package comprising of a "Frost Giant", "Joker" from "The Secret Files" series, "New Krypton: Superman" and "Last Son: Zod" will be arriving soon. "Colossus" from the "Marvel Select" line is out this month. The new wave of "Marvel Legends" is on the way. As mentioned in my prior post, I want to build a "Dark Avengers" display. Still hunting for a classic "Deadpool" too. "Lady Diva" commented that I do not have enough female figs so more females need to be added.
An exciting year ahead!!! Watch out for more toy posts from me in 2012.
